The lineage of Lyday Farms dates back to the 1830's and at least a portion of the current farm has nurtured several generations of the Lyday family. Throughout the last 170 years it has also been actively used for agriculture and livestock. In more recent times, this beautiful spot in the East Texas landscape has become one of the most modern working farms in northeast Texas and home to Gary and Sandra (nee Lyday) Fernandes. In its first four years of operation, Lyday Farms has quickly gained a first class reputation for its straight Egyptian Arabian breeding program, complete equine services and facilities, and premium hay products for the equine industry.
Located in Fannin County, Texas about 80 miles northeast of Dallas, Lyday Farms is still growing. It is constructed on approximately 1100 acres of contiguous land populated by over twenty ponds and lakes and bisected in part by tributaries of the Middle Sulphur River.
Groves of native Texas trees populate the landscape and give shade and definition to the land. Riding trails have also been marked over much of the farm for both recreational and training purposes. The facilities for the horse operation are all new and have been designed to both embrace the heritage of Texas farm architecture, and to provide the functionality required for a first class breeding, boarding and training facility.
